This song & video concept was inspired by an event last year, when I performed as an opener for two KPOP idols, I contemplated what it meant to be an IDOL and the expectations that the music and entertainment industry places on them, on us, on me. I’m not an IDOL myself, far from that, but getting into this industry I have come across different expectations, expectations of my appearance, expectations of getting numbers, expectations of success, being viewed as a failure and cast aside when those expectations aren’t met. How to get more people to follow you, how to get more people to like you. It’s all quite exhausting really. Especially when I truly just care about making the best music and art that I can. But so is the life of being a modern artist, and maybe that can’t be changed...
