After 24 hours of flying — made very pleasant by @klm & @jetairways flying our group in Business Class from JFK — our #tajness group has made it to Mumbai. [Which was once called Bombay and is still referenced that way by some of my followers who have messaged me after seeing my Stories announcing our arrival...] However you refer to the city, it’s home to our first stop on a tour of India with @tajhotels: The Taj Mahal Palace. Built in 1903, which was 21 years before the nearby Gateway of India, it has welcomed maharajas and dignitaries for over a century. This grand dame watches over the causeway that hugs the Arabian Sea and is near to the city’s financial hub, parliament, stadium and shopping districts. In 2015 when I first visited India, I remember driving by and thinking what a stunning building this was from the outside.
