Passau, Germany was a lovely place to end our #hosted ‘Danube Waltz’ cruise with @vikingcruises. It had some element of everything we had loved in each of our other stops. Yet it was also special for its own reasons. Because of heavy rain, there weren’t a lot of people out on the streets and I had an hour to walk around capturing bits and pieces I liked best in my own way and at my own pace. From the ornate doorways to the painted cobblestones denoting the arts district, I really enjoyed that walk. It was just after @paintthenight & I learned about gingerbread making at SIMON. For generations they’ve been making it without molasses, using the same wood molds. Walter Simon, the fourth generation, also gave us his family’s recipe for Christmas punch which was so much better than Gluhwëin that I’m still dreaming about that steaming mug of deliciousness.
