While driving through
@lomondtrossachs on the way to Monachyle Mhor,
@dante.vincent and I passed the Falls of Falloch which are part of a network of natural features in the park that have specially created viewpoints designed by young architects. Part of the first round of Scottish Scenic Routes competitions, each stop offers its own unusual reward. At Falloch, it’s a sort of tunnel created by John Kennedy that is entitled ‘Woven Sound’ and it highlights a quote by Dorothy Wordsworth, sister of William Wordsworth, taken from her diary. Set in a peaceful glen and falling 30 feet, the falls are an abrupt step in the passage of the River Falloch as it makes its way down Glen Falloch towards Loch Lomond at Ardlui. I recommend wearing a good pair of wellies to explore the area as the amount of mud is only exceeded by the level of beauty in the Glen.
