So much more than just a hotel, the Mission Inn is a piece of living history containing artifacts and mementos from centuries of history tied to the land that is now known as California and the USA; some artifacts that pre-date our country, such as the believed to be oldest church bell in Christendom. It’s a National Historic Landmark and a state of California Historic Landmark but also a AAA Four Diamond property. And after the combination of hard + soft adventures that we have had this month, I sure was wishing I could have spent a few hours at the Spa here treating my aching bones 😂 This trip has taught me I’m the kind of adventurer who still needs to sleep in a good hotel at night.
