In Honolulu, one of my favorite neighborhoods is Kākā'āko. That's largely due to the presence of cool businesses such as @a_r_v_o but it's also because of the work of people like @pro_gress who is the Co-founder + Lead Director behind @lanalanestudios & @powwowworldwide. Jeff and Jasper began the work to help populate the Kākā'āko area with plentiful public art back in 2011 when they had their first event and in 2012, Lana Lane Studios opened on what is in fact known as Lana Lane in Kākā'āko. The shop now has 25 artists and POW!WOW! is now a Honolulu event that happens annually over two weeks in February as well as at other times in the form of festivals in cities such as Hong Kong, Tokyo, Austin, Long Beach and Washington D.C.
