The bi-product of spending time with @sliceofpai in Vancouver was that I, think and hope, I learned a lot about food photography. If you don't follow her, a simple peruse of her feed for a moment and you'll see what I mean. She's such a pro!! It's a great city to practice in because like NYC, great food abounds in Vancouver. But unlike NYC, where I often struggle with lighting -- it seemed everywhere we went the lighting was perfect. Soft and diffused but natural. The reason I want to perfect my ability to capture food moments isn't because it's trendy. Though arguably it is. Rather, it's because I believe that the story of a place isn't fully told unless it includes food. So much of our cultures and our histories has to do with what we eat. This meal at Kingyo for example is just one way in which you can learn more about how Asian culture has impacted the city of Vancouver through immigration.
