Federal investigators, with assistance from local police, searched the private home of Frank Sinito, owner of several prominent Cleveland properties, as part of an ongoing investigation involving the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The search took place at Sinito’s mansion in Waite Hill. No arrests were reported. It remains unclear if any items were seized or what charges, if any, are forthcoming.
HUD has previously accused Sinito's Millennia companies of improper conduct regarding 19 federally subsidized properties, alleging nearly $4.9 million is missing. In December, Sinito and his companies were debarred from participating in HUD transactions for five years after discovering missing funds.
