Since mum and I only had one full day in London, we stuck pretty close to @onealdwychhotel where @leadinghotelsoftheworld put us up for the two nights and with the exception of a ride out to the Victoria & Albert Museum -- if we couldn't walk to it from the hotel, we just didn't go. This was actually fun. It gave me a chance to see new parts of London that I'd always stayed away from in all the years when I was nomadic, visiting London every few months. The city feels like a second home to me and it was the first international city I ever visited. Yet this time, it also felt surprising. Sometimes in the simplest ways, like when we were taking a walk toward Buckingham Palace during Golden Hour and we saw this little side street with the most gorgeous purple tree hanging over a wall and we just both stopped at once to stare at how beautiful it was.
