Still posting over on the @palmshotelmiami feed, check it out! Danté & I spent most of yesterday just editing Cuba photos like this one by the pool at The Palms and the more I look back at and edit photos, the more I love the country. But I think an important part of the story that's so often left out is the fact that as gorgeous a place as it is to photograph, it is still such a hard place for the people. Sure, it's getting better. And it may get much better with improved relations between Cuba and the USA. But it might not. A lot of the improvement focuses on things tourists "need." Much of the change we saw even while there last week was surface level. Meanwhile, average Cubans asked if we had even 25 cents to spare, or if we could leave them any new clothes. Take the facade in this photo for a sort of example, sure it's colorful and makes for a fun photo. But look at the details of all the houses here, they're in need of repair!! And these aren't even the worst we saw by a long str...
