The Accidental Sisterhood is a blend of fact and fiction - I call it faction! A factual part is my breast cancer diagnosis. I knew when writing this novel I wanted to include my breast cancer journey, to acknowledge all of us triumphers and the rollercoaster of emotions it unlocks and the importance to do our monthly selfies and yearly mammograms. I also wanted to inspire my breastie c sisters that though being diagnosed with breast cancer was scary, it sent me on a life-changing journey. And it inspire me to write this first novel — a dream I’d literally put on the back shelf.
