Spent the first day of 2015 doing a treasure hunt of sorts through the city of Edinburgh. Put on by @edhogmanay, "Scot:Lands" began here at the National Museum of Scotland in the soaring great hall and after spinning a wheel, we were given a card that took us to our first destination which was Assembly Roxy where we listened to live music by Roddy Hart & The Lonesome Fire, then to McEwan Hall after spinning the wheel again, so we could dance along to the Celtic music of Rura. A total of 10 venues throughout the city featured 🎶 live Scottish Trad and Celtic music (which was our favorite), 🎨 art exhibits, dance and dramatic performances. I already loved Scotland, but if I hadn't, this would have been enough to make me fall in love. The music itself was beautiful enough to be persuasive. And every venue was as majestic as the starting point for one reason or another whether architecturally or historically. A brilliant start to the new year! 📷 See @dante8's feed for a wider view of this...
