So we're driving through Ubud, headed home to Nusa Dua, our only goal to find some good rice paddies to shoot. We'd seen the one I already posted about and we wanted one more. With golden hour light, the kind of light that just makes you stop in your tracks....when these boats made me "stop in my tracks." I nearly screamed at our driver to, "STOP STOP STOP." And @jonescrow had seen the boats so he wanted to stop as well. (Check out his photo of this scene, so different from mine.) Luckily the driver did stop, but by the time he did we were well past this and we had to jog back along the road to photograph these boats. Because that's what photographers do when we see something we really love and are inspired by, we do what it takes to capture it. All I can say is that the light and the colors just screamed at me. The way I almost did to the driver. And that was Ubud too. It grabbed me and hasn't let go. I will have to go back for longer someday because I fell in love with it. And not th...
