USMNT defender Sergiño Dest is recovering from an ACL injury and is hoping for a return early next year. In the meantime, he’s been focusing on side projects that will help his community. This month, Dest opened a soccer court in his hometown of Almere in the Netherlands. He was born and raised there, and played for the Almere youth academy before leaving for Ajax. It is named “Sergiño Dest Court” and is open for everyone. This is his way of giving back to his hometown. A lot of children and his childhood friends came out for the opening ceremony.
