For Frank Lloyd Wright, Taliesin West was a place where he could experiment and innovate; a place he could try things that were never possible with client commissions. Interior gutter systems, canvas roofing, and colorful details that commercial and residential customers alike weren't as thrilled about as he was, all can be found at TW. More than anywhere else I've been to that bears his mark (though I haven't yet been everywhere), his principles of "Organic Architecture" are completely on display. This little vignette was one of my favorites though it isn't even the best.
