Phoenix experienced record heat this summer and even into the fall.
Navigating this heat has been the single hardest part of training for a marathon so I’ve had to make some adjustments.
When I signed up for the everywomansmarathon in November I thought my training days would be nice and cool come late September when it was time to really increase my mileage but boy was I wrong. I’m a night owl and I prefer running in the afternoon but I’ve been waking up early to try and beat the heat which many times it was still 90° during my run and heating up to the triple digits. I had to cut my outdoor run short and train were on the treadmill, which I am not a fan of. One of the ways I helped my body navigate this heat was with ShamrockFarmsmilk. Did you know that it has all the same electrolytes and nutrients that boost hydration as a sports drink but without all the extra sugar? Yep, it has potassium, magnesium, calcium, and sodium. Now that I know this, I’ll continue to use Shamrock Farm...
