On Friday August 26th, a group of six cyclists, including two stroke survivors, a care partner, a traumatic brain injury survivor, two interns, and a mini goldendoodle completed a cross-country bike trip called Stroke Across America. Not only did they bike 4,500 miles, but they did so for the purpose of raising awareness for stroke, aphasia, and the recovery process.
As one of the two interns, I spent the past 100 days biking, laughing, eating, exploring, photographing, and filming with this group. When I arrived in Pomeroy WA little did I know that these folks who I had only met on a zoom call once before would soon become family.
