Triennale Milano triennalemilano and Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain fondationcartier , as part of their cultural partnership, are presenting a homage to Alessandro Mendini (1931 - 2019)- “Io sono un drago”. An architect, artist and designer, Mendini was the person most representative of the idea that design should be critical and at the same time imaginative. He depicts himself in a self-portrait as a “dragon”: a mythical creature conceived as a Frankenstein’s monster, made up of many different pieces. He imagines himself as multiple and contradictory, a collection of themes linked by the guiding thread of his life story. The exhibition is a journey through the nuclei of his thought, starting from his beginnings as an independent intellectual before he graduated, when he drew caustic cartoons to exorcize his bourgeois environment. #triennale #alessandromendini #iosonoundrago #exhibition #milan
