Early in the fourth and final episode of “Citizen Nation,” the PBS “Retro Report” documentary series, Portland high school student Natalie Adamson recalls some early skepticism about studying the U.S. Constitution. She wondered, as she says, why people now should listen to “all those old men that lived in the 1700s.” But Adamson goes on to say that the more she learned about the Constitution, the more compelling it became. Adamson knows what she’s talking about, as she was a member of the Grant High School Constitution team, which won the 2024 We the People national high school civics competition.
