Eric Francis was treated to a rare sight on Cannon Beach Monday. “I watched about 45 minutes of sparring this evening with three different bulls,” Francis told The Oregonian. “I counted 32 elk in total, but there were likely more since we kept our distance.” While it’s not entirely uncommon to see Roosevelt elk around Cannon Beach, the uninterrupted elk fight club framed by a colorful sunset is something some people only see in nature documentaries.
