The adorable, potato-sized mammals that live in the crevasses of rocks in the Columbia River Gorge are thriving, according to the latest study from the Cascades Pika Watch.
After recruiting volunteers to look for pikas this spring, the organization (a program of the Oregon Zoo), announced Thursday that the animals appear to be repopulating areas that had been severely burned by the Eagle Creek fire in 2017.
