The SM East choir performed with the Indian Hills and elementary feeder school choirs in the main gym on Tuesday, Oct. 22 for the East Area Choir Festival. The floor of the gym had rows of folding chairs set out for parents to watch their students perform. The last group of the night was the East Choir– they performed the songs “Sing To Remember,” “I Got Shoes” and “Surge Illuminare,” and then to conclude the festival all of the Choirs joined together to sing “Pure Imagination” from the movie “Charlie and The Chocolate Factory.” Junior Molly Minor, who is a member of Chamber Choir, the premier choir at East, said her favorite part of the festival was the way it unifies the choir community. “I love how it brings all the schools together and makes us feel like one big choir,” Minor said.
