After his release into the wild, Nox was rescued from the ground in the side yard of a house in Richmond on Oct. 21. Bay Raptor Rescue took him to WildCare, then transferred him to the California Raptor Center at UC Davis. “The official news is that we don’t know what happened to him. He was rescued, presenting with acute emaciation. So he lost a lot of weight. We don’t know what the cause of that was. He did require a blood transfusion, which he received, and he originally responded well to that transfusion, but eventually did not survive Wednesday night,” said Cal Falcons team member Kim Houghton.
