FIRE CREW: Clackamas Crew 30 Clackamas Crew 30, based in Boring, Oregon, is blazing a new trail as the first 20-person Type 2 hand crew created by a structural fire department in the state. After an After-Action Review of the devastating 2020 wildfires, Clackamas Fire received a grant from Worksource Oregon to create this highly-trained crew, which responds to wildfires throughout Oregon, constructing handlines and conducting strategic burn-out operations to stop fires in their tracks. In addition, Crew 30 is actively involved in fuel mitigation projects during the off-season. Their tireless efforts and innovative approach demonstrate their unwavering commitment to protecting communities and helping to fight wildfires across the state.
