Far from the fires at ballot boxes in Portland and Vancouver, voters in one coastal Oregon county are facing their own election worry.
On Tuesday, a week before Election Day, the Coos County clerk reported that an unspecified error at the United States Postal Service has delayed the arrival of ballots to an unknown number of county households.
“At this point, voters who haven’t received a ballot shouldn’t count on it arriving,” Julie Brecke, the county clerk, wrote in a press release.
