A gun expert says the decision not to file charges against the parents of the school shooter in Perry is not surprising since investigators were unable to determine how the shooter obtained the gun he used. Dylan Butler, 17, shot six students and staff members before taking his own life Jan. 4 at Perry High School. Two victims — sixth-grader Ahmir Jolliff, 11, and Principal Dan Marburger, 56 — died of their injuries. On Oct. 17, Dallas County Attorney Jeannine Ritchie announced the results of a months-long investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting, concluding that in her view "the evidence does not support charges at the state level against anyone."
