Each year The Booker Prize commissions individual makers who are members of Designer Bookbinders (@db_bookbinding_uk) to create a bespoke book binding for our six shortlisted authors. We have a series of in-progress shots to share with you before the final versions are unveiled on 19 November 2020. Designer @stuartbrockman is binding the cover of The New Wilderness by #2020BookerPrize shortlisted author, Diane Cook. Stuart shares the idea behind his design below: ‘The design depicts barbed wire separating the skyline of the City and the trees of The Wilderness. The colours for the binding and the onlays were chosen to reflect the nature and feel of the book.
