This Italian brand might be coming to Hypercar racing soon. Alfa romeo returned to Formula 1 in 2019 partnering with Sauber. However, the CEO of Alfa Romeo stated that the company will be shifting away from Formula 1 after the Sauber partnership ended after the 2023 season. But, this doesnt mean that alfa romeo wants to dissapear from motorsport. Considering WEC having only 7 races as opposed to 22 in formula 1, it is more budget friendly for a smaller automaker like Alfa Romeo. Plus Alfa Romeo has a long history of racing starting in the 1920s all the way until the end of the century in the iconic 155 DTM Alfa Romeo parent company Stellantis currently races in WEC with wingless Peugeot 9x8 Hybrid, however, after an unsuccessful season, they are looking to drastically redesign the vehicle.
