Before the E30 M3, and even before the M1, There was the BMW 3.0 CSL. The First ever car designed and built by the brand’s motorsports division. Built off of the E9 chassis, the CSL would shed weight through lightweight aluminum bodywork. The 3 liter inline six would get a power boost, and the iconic Batmobile wing and front air dam would be added to help the car stick to the ground.
