This is where Toyota’s Le Mans journey began. Powered by a 3.6L twin turbo V8, this car was a true monster, setting lap times faster than the higher class cars. First introduced in 1998, this was the time when Group GT-1 was replacing the Le Mans Prototypes. In 1999, this car won the 24h of Le Mans in its class, piloted by none other than Keiichi Tsuchiya. The car was short-lived, and Toyota would not return to Le Mans until 2012 with the TS030 Hybrid. The craziest thing about this car is that because of the GT1 regulations, street versions of this car exists.
