Based on the Le Mans winning TS050 with a 2.4L Turbo V6 hybrid drivetrain, the world nearly saw a Pagani competitor from the Japanese manufacturer that usually makes Corollas and Priuses. The worst part is, the car was so close to being put to production. Toyota was doing multiple test runs at numerous racetracks, but apparently, something bad happened at Toyota’s own Fuji Speedway. Yes. Unconfirmed claims say that they did the Mazda Furai. The car crashed and caught on fire, with damage big enough to make Toyota put a halt indefinitely on this amazing project. With the Le Mans Hypercar class regulation changed, Toyota no longer needed a road going homologation special either. Hopefully in the near future, Toyota can bring back life to this beast.
