A soldier, 21, has been charged with murder after the body of a sergeant, 23, was found in a dumpster on a Missouri army base last week.
US Army Sergeant Sarah Roque from Indiana was reported missing on October 21 after she failed to report for duty at Fort Leonard Wood. The following day, her body was discovered in a dumpster near single-soldier housing on the base, as stated by US Army Major General Christopher Beck during a press conference. ‘Sergeant Roque was a daughter, sister, friend, and soldier who chose to serve our country bravely and honorably,’ Maj. Gen. Christopher Beck, MSCoE and Fort Leonard Wood commanding general, said.
