Roosevelt Island is a hidden gem in New York City. It was very relaxing to take some time away from the hustle and bustle of Manhattan. All you have to do is take the Roosevelt Tram from Manhattan (which is an experience on its own) and it is the same price as the subway, just use your metro card. The last 2 pictures are from the panoramaroomnyc which is a rooftop bar with a full panoramic view of the different burrows of New York City.
