As #WorldMentalHealthMonth draws to a close, World Athletics releases fourth major study into online abuse. Of 355,873 posts and comments reviewed across 1917 athletes’ accounts during Paris2024, 809 were identified as abusive, with racism (18%) and sexualised abuse (30%) topping the list. “It is no secret that social media abuse towards athletes can have a devastating impact on their mental health as well as their performance [...] We will continue our work in this space and use our research to help drive positive change.” – World Athletics President Sebastian Coe Full study in the link in our bio 📲
