While speaking to #MichaelStrahan she said more than 10 years ago they found a cancerous lump in her breast, and she was scared. Although she was relieved when it turned out to be a cyst, she was also afraid of getting another misdiagnosis. This led the “Smile” singer avoiding mammograms for 8 years. Unfortunately when she finally had another one, it led to a breast cancer diagnosis. ___________________________________ Shanice noted doctors also told her she has dense breasts, which have more tissue and less fat, making reading mammograms more difficult as tissue and possible tumors both appear white in results, according to the American Cancer Society.
