There are some similarities between Jessica Michael Davis’ own career and Sam, the character she plays in her new movie "Escaping Ohio." Like Sam, she left Akron at the age of 18 to pursue her dreams — and like Sam, she also came to appreciate the beauty of growing up in Northeast Ohio. 🎞️ Davis drew on her own background in making the fictional movie, which follows two best friends who fall in love, and who have to confront major life decisions after high school.
