REAL PASTA: The cast of “Dinner at 8, Dead by 9” performed their last show in the FABT on Wednesday night. The one-act murder mystery featured Eleanor, an older relative who is the head of the theatre guild, her family members, a veterinarian, a sassy chef and one dinner host. After Eleanor surprisingly drops dead upon eating her meal, everyone becomes a suspect. Sophomore Ruby Hartin described her character, Darby, the granddaughter of Eleanor, as bubbly and perky, with a slightly darker side as one of her dueling personalities. Hartin said that playing Darby was really fun, and that she is sad the play’s run ended. “Darby is kinda like me but amplified, so it was easy to find her,” Hartin said. “I feel sad because it was a really fun play but also happy because now I can do more shows and projects and have more time after school.” Hartin’s favorite part of the show was when people were laughing at the jokes made in the show.
