When researchers from the UK tracked herding #sheepdogs with GPS devices, they saw that the dog simply tries to gather the sheep in if they are disparate. Once the dog sees that the herd is cohesive, it tries to drive them forward. These two steps allow a single sheepdog to corral as many as 100 sheep. #POTD
