We’re so PUMPED to officially unveil our newest project in Malawi - a solar-powered water distribution system for the 250 students attending Kawiya Secondary School and the surrounding community.
Back in 2003, Kawiya had a borehole drilled, but it never properly functioned and soon after became defunct. Since then, Kawiya was dependent on a contaminated open shallow well that was causing persistent water-borne illness and lots of missed school days. The school also had difficulty retaining high-performing teachers due to the lack of a clean water source.
Now, Kawiya can enjoy improved health & hygiene, better school attendance, higher quality instruction, and teacher retention, that will pave the way for students to perform their best and have a brighter future.
