This is a newly released photo from the Hubble Space Telescope. It's a bird’s-eye view of Andromeda galaxy (M31). Even though this galaxy is 2 million light-years away, Hubble can pick out individual stars in a 61,000-light-year-long section of our galactic neighbor. That's similar to photographing a beach and being able to see individual grains of sand.
