This contract, effective from December 2024 to June 2026, aims to expand food assistance services for low-income households across Berkeley.
The funding will allow Berkeley Food Network, or BFN, to increase its food distribution capabilities, provide more frequent mobile pantries and enhance access for vulnerable populations, according to Andrew Crispin, executive director of BFN.
“We are delighted to be working with the city to take a systematic approach to addressing food insecurity and resolving it once and for all,” Crispin said during the meeting’s public comment period.
