Did you know that one in five children experience chronic pain? The Get Up and Go (GUAG) program at Holland Bloorview is Canada’s only persistent pediatric pain service with both an inpatient and day program component— aimed at helping youth with chronic pain regain function and return to usual activities. The multidisciplinary team includes occupational and physiotherapy, music and art therapy, therapeutic recreation, social work, nursing, psychiatry, psychology, a dietician, and a pharmacist—all working together to help youth with chronic pain regain function and return to usual activities.
