An hour and a half North west of Atlanta is where you’ll find Howard Finster‘s Paradise Garden, possibly the most over the top and unhinged, artistic paradise I’ve ever come across. Finster was a Baptist minister, turned folk artist who was incredibly prolific and Paradise Garden as both his home and studio. The fact that this little slice of heaven lies down a residential street is bizarre (we were the only ones there the day we visited, making it even more fun!) but it is totally worth the trip.
