Fans of a popular student-run café at UNC will now have another place to go to get their coffee.
The non-profit business Meantime Coffee Company will open a second Chapel Hill location at the Innovate Carolina Junction building on Friday, Nov. 8. The Junction, championed as an "innovation hub" by UNC leaders, is a co-working and networking space for businesses of all sizes — but, particularly, start-ups stemming from the nearby campus or companies looking to harness the university's connections.
"The café will offer the same sustainable, locally sourced products as the flagship Campus Y location," read a release from the company, "partnering with Carrboro Coffee Roasters and other small businesses to provide ethical and affordable drink options to the wider Chapel Hill community."
Meantime was founded in 2016 by three undergraduates at UNC. The café donates $50,000 annually to the Carolina community.
