Leading the tiebreaker set 4-2, the Knights rallied to deliver kills and tips from Carlson and Martens, as well as more digs by Thornton. After a few contested calls, the Hawks got back on the scoreboard winning two points.
Serves from senior Kai Talebi allowed for more points for the Knights, but the Hawks returned the favor with a few ace of their own. After Carlson scored yet another kill, the Knights were up 9-7.
After back and forth points, the Knights conceded points to hitting errors but also placed kills leading to a 14-11 Hawks lead and game point. The final point was off a tip from the Hawks offensive line that the Knights were unable to return.
The Knights end their season with a 28-18 record. All of us at MacJ would like to congratulate the Knights—especially the team’s seniors—on their success this season and thank them for all the exciting five-set matches that kept Knights’ fans entertained and on the edges of their seats all season long.
