As someone who “looks fine” I feel called to talk about chronic pain. There is a large portion of our community suffering at any given time. We know people think we are lazy, making it up, looking for attention, etc and it’s just not true. In a society in which our perceived value is based on our output it is extremely depressing to be unable to live up to the expectations. The mental battle starts to become worse than the physical one.
