Carolina continued its dominance over the ACC field hockey circuit by defeating No. 3 seed Boston College 4-1 in the conference championship game in Winston-Salem on Friday. It’s UNC’s eighth straight ACC Tournament title and 27th in program history. After a scoreless first quarter, UNC got on the board early in the second thanks for first team All-ACC honoree Charly Bruder’s 26th goal of the season. Ciana Riccardo doubled the lead 10 minutes later with her first goal of 2024, and Carolina took a 2-0 lead into halftime. Sanne Hak scored on a penalty stroke midway through the third quarter, a period in which the Tar Heels outshot the Eagles 8-0. Ryleigh Heck added UNC’s fourth goal less than two minutes into the fourth quarter before Boston College scored in the final moments. Head Coach Erin Matson's program is now 18-0 on the season and has won 25 straight games overall.
