Today in Hip-Hop — therealgza released his sophomore album, ‘Liquid Swords.’ Starting in 1994, wutangclan delivered a strong lineup of back to back solo album releases. After the success of Method Man’s ‘Tical,’ ODB’s ‘Return to the 36 Chambers,’ and Raekwon’s ‘Only Built 4 Cuban Linx...,’ on November 6, 1995 GZA stepped up next with his own impressive effort. As an avid chess player, GZA created a world around the album that focused on “the concept of the chessboard with its sword-wielding warriors.” Themes of chess, martial arts, philosophy, and crime can be heard in the lyrics throughout ‘Liquid Swords.’ What’s your favorite track from the album? #GZA #LiquidSwords #hiphop
