We are sad to report that iconic American dancer and choreographer Judith Ann Jamison has passed away at the age of 81. Jamison was the artistic director of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater from 1989 to 2011 and later its artistic director emerita, Jamison's visionary leadership and artistic excellence profoundly shaped modern dance.
