Introducing The Minus Times: Maibock.
Our latest iteration of our lager series is a 7.4% German-style Maibock Lager. For this warming and hearty celebratory lager, we utilized Hallertau Hersbrucker and CZ Saaz in the whirlpool, and dry-hopped it with CZ Saaz. The Maibock style, like a few of the past Minus Times, is another long-standing and traditional Bavarian-style lager. Maibock is meant to be a transitional beer, like the season of Spring, in which Foam first opened seven years ago. It's lighter in color than winter bocks but brewed to a strength suitable for chilly Spring afternoons. Warming, inviting, and pleasantly drinkable, this beer goes hand in hand with this time of year in Vermont when the sun is shining but the cooler air lingers. In this beer, you’ll find notes of freshly baked bread, caramel, and toffee, balanced by noble hops and a touch of floral citrus on the nose.
